Do not let your partner control your budget
If you make your own money, have a job and work to earn, then you have the right to spend your money on what you want and need. Your partner should have their own budget. Do not fully support anyone, because your partner is not totally helpless and can earn money as well. Your finances belong to you. If you want, you can share part of it with your partner.

Who would ever be as crazy as to expect you to become a mind-reader? Be realistic and tell your partner that you need to be explained and informed about what they expect from you. Communication makes your relationship smoother.
