MIRRORING BODY LANGUAGE
Mimicking the other person’s body language is also a well-known technique used by those who wish to be accepted and trusted. Try and mimic others when you are having a conversation. You are very likely to gain people’s respect and trust if you do so. The feeling of trust can definitely be increased by mirroring people’s body language. Bear in mind that you should do it in a subtle manner otherwise it will look unnatural and even offensive. We recommend you should first practice mirroring while dealing with your friends or family members. Do not tell them you are doing an experiment! Just watch their reaction and decide whether mirroring is effective and whether you are good at it.
HAVING MUTUAL FRIENDS
Let us first explain a new term to you. There is the so-called triadic closure. This is a type of relationship with people you do not know in person but who communicate with your friends hence if your friends mention you, they tend to trust you without even seeing or hearing you. You might have already noticed how willing you are to add your friends’ buddies to your circle of pals even though you have never corresponded to them before. You trust them because someone you know trusts them too.
