Do not bring your pet to bed. There are several good reasons why you should keep your pet outside of your bedroom.
1. Bubonic plague
The bubonic plague hasn’t disappeared off the face of the planet. It still exists. Nowadays it can be easily caught from domesticated animals. As a matter of fact, there were more than 20 cases of the bubonic plague that was caught by cat owners at the end of 20th century. The disease is carried by dogs, too. Be careful if you know that your pet has fleas. Take your dog or cat to the vet and make sure your pet is healthy.
2. Parasites
Hookworms and roundworms are common. However, there are much more offenders that are commonly found in cats and dogs. As a rule, the above mentioned parasites lay their eggs in your pet’s fur. If you allow your cat or dog to sleep in your bed, it is very possible that your sheets contain parasites. Vacuum clean the bed, change the sheets and do not take your pet in your bed ever again!
