5. Pepper
Another myth you might still believe in is that if you keep peppers in the fridge, they will be fresh for longer. The truth is, peppers do not need a cooler to be fresh and taste good. Regardless the color of the vegetable (green, yellow or red), you can safely place them in a dry and cool place. Use your pantry for this purpose. The same tip works for chili peppers.
6. Jam
Jam is sweet. Now ask yourself one simple question: do you keep refined sugar in the fridge? Most probably your answer is no. Then why do you need to keep your jam in the refrigerator? Jam contains a high percentage of sugar that works as a preservative. There are even more preservatives if you have store-bough jam. Opened jam can also be kept in your pantry, kitchen table or counter. There is one important rule, though. If your jam is opened, make sure that you do not accidentally mix it with other foods. Pieces of bread, toasts, biscuits or crackers can spoil the product. Keep all sorts of jam away from other products in order to avoid damage.
