Some foods hate cold air. If put in the fridge, they stop being as tasty and fragrant as they usually are if kept outside.
1. Avocados
Unripe avocados should never be kept in the fridge. This fruit needs time and average room temperature to ripen and taste the way it is supposed to. Coolers make avocados tasteless. Only if the avocado is ripe can you place it in the refrigerator. And this is all right only if you have no intention to use it right away.
2. Melons
Melons that have not yet been opened should not be placed in the refrigerator. The best place to store your melons is the kitchen counter. Room temperature keeps the fruit’s antioxidants levels unchanged. In cold places melons tend to lose beta-carotene content. If your melon has already been opened or sliced, you can the cover the food and place it in the fridge.
