5 Tips to Avoid Gaining Pounds on Weekend

Our weekends start on Friday evening. This is when we look forward to spending more time with our family and friends. We want to relax before the next working week begins. However, some of us notice that on Monday morning they are heavier than they were two days before.

The Issue: You play a super parent role

Your weekends should not be spent by you playing a super mom or super dad role. Some might think that taking kids to the restaurant and letting them order their favorite treats is a must. However, the problem here is that your whole family then is at risk of gaining pounds after such weekends. We do not mind you spending your weekends with your children. What we recommend you should do is to go skiing, skating or playing tennis instead of eating burgers and fries in a fast food restaurant. After exercise get back home and involve your kids in the kitchen – let all of you prepare a healthy meal for your big family.

The issue: You become a couch potato

If you spend your weekend lying on the sofa, then do not be surprised that the scale shows you a bigger number. Even sitting at a desk is not as bad as recharging in bed doing nothing. Let your weekends be more active – take a walk in the nearest park, do some gardening or attend some local event. Light exercise will prevent you from gaining pounds.

The solution: You can fix it. Never let the weekend turn into a session consisting only of watching TV and snacking. Let the mentioned things be your rewards for something else. For example, a glass of your favorite wine can be your treat if you properly clean the house. Not only will your house be fresh and tidy, you will burn some calories and be able to enjoy wine anyways!
