How healthy is vitamin D and what are its advantages?
1. Vitamin can prevent diabetes
Recent research has proved there is a link between diabetes and low levels of vitamin D. Also, if you suffer from obesity, it might mean you have lower levels of vitamin D in your blood. Some of us might decide that what we need to do to prevent the disease is to increase the intake of this vitamin. However, it is not all that simple. More studies should be carried out to find out further details.
2. Can sunlight provide vitamin D?
Sunlight can provide your body with vitamin D. It is great if you live closer to the equator and can enjoy warm and sunny days all year round. Whenever you expose your skin to the sun, your body starts producing vitamin D. In some cases you might need special supplement to get enough of it. If your skin is fair, then 10 minutes spent in the sun is great. Do it a few times a week and you’ll stay healthy! If your skin is dark, you can spend more time outside. However, if you live in a cold country where the number of sunny days is low, we recommend you should eat the right foods.
